Curtis’ playing style is heavily influenced by the Blues music he grew up listening to, one of his favorites being, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers featuring Eric Clapton. These days, one can find him stationed at Jefferson Barracks in South City, St. Louis by day, and by night at places like Hammerstone’s and The Broadway Oyster Bar.
Besides the Jake Curtis Blue Band, he also fronts the, “National Blues Museum Jam Band,” leading the jam at the Museum on Thursday nights.
A self-avowed “gear nerd,” Curtis plays Strats, Teles, and Les Pauls but he admits to a preference for Fender amps.
