Grammy-nominated percussionist and vocalist Pedrito Martinez leads his Afro-Cuban quintet in a high energy blend of Cuban timba, traditional rumba and the sacred sounds of Yoruba. Recently named Jazz Percussionist of The Year, by the Jazz Journalists Association, Martinez has recorded or performed with numerous musicians including Paul Simon, Wynton Marsalis, Paquito D’Rivera, Bruce Springsteen, Ruben Blades, Dave Matthews and Sting, and has contributed to over 75 albums.

The Sheldon is pleased to host a Cuban-inspired pre-show buffet dinner before the concert provided by local restaurant Mayo Ketchup.
Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. in the Sheldon Ballroom. Dinner tickets are $38 per person (including gratuity) with a cash bar available.
