Please join us for Sheldon Gala 2022, featuring Tony and Grammy Award-winning artist Heather Headley.
The Sheldon’s 2022 Gala is chaired by Lori and Ted Samuels, with honorary chair, Barbara Konneker Webster.
The evening will celebrate the re-opening of The Sheldon’s premiere event space, renamed The Konneker Room (formerly the Louis Spiering Room), in tribute to longtime Sheldon supporters, the late Wilfred and Ann Lee Konneker.
The success of the annual gala is crucial to the operation and preservation of The Sheldon. In a typical year, The Sheldon hosts over 350 music, visual art and community events, and welcomes tens of thousands of students for music and art education programs. These programs are made possible in large part by generous individual, corporate and foundation support of the annual gala.
- Anyone aged 12 or older, attending a ticketed event at The Sheldon, will be asked to show proof of full vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 48 hours before time of entry into the event. Patrons should be prepared to show their vaccination card, or proof of negative COVID test, or a photo of their vaccination card or test results on their mobile devices, before entering The Sheldon. Self-administered tests will not be accepted.
- The Sheldon will also maintain a flexible ticket exchange policy throughout the season to accommodate any health and safety-related concerns.
Heather Headley’s Broadway career began in 1997 when she originated the role of Nala in Disney’s The Lion King, followed by her Tony-Award winning title role in Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida. She has gone on to find success in the R&B and Gospel recording industry, with multiple Grammy nominations to her credit, including an Award in 2009 for her album Audience of One. Headley made her triumphant return to Broadway in 2016, taking on the role of Shug Avery in The Color Purple, and can currently be seen as a series regular in Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, as well as in a recurring role in CBS’ Chicago Med.
